Starting today, New Yorkers have a place to go to let Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio know what they want from his administration.
Ten foundations have teamed up to set up a tent on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Canal Street in Manhattan. It’s called the “Talking Transition” initiative.
De Blasio is not associated with this project. The hope is, this will get New Yorkers discussing the civic issues that matter most to them and the new City Hall team will act on any suggestions.
The tent opened at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Staff will collect opinions and suggestions for the next 15 days.
Special events today include talks on the city budget and local businesses in Brooklyn.
NY1 is covering the launch of this project and our political talk show, “Road to City Hall” will air from the tent all next week beginning Monday evening.
NY1 is the television sponsor of “Talking Transition.”
