ATV rider nabbed after ‘fleeing, running over’ cop

Cops arrested an ATV biker that allegedly mowed down and seriously injured a police officer in Brooklyn.

Kenny Ortiz, 31, was with his lawyer when police picked him up at his Jamaica Queens home around noon on Friday, cops said.

The biker wore a black helmet with skulls on it when he ran over a Brooklyn North detective on Pitkin Avenue near Lincoln Avenue after he was pulled over for driving erratically around 3:30 p.m., cops said. ATV’s are not permitted on city streets.

Ortiz allegedly tried to flee, dragging the officer and running over his leg, cops said. The detective suffered a spinal fracture, broken nose, bruised ribs and a cut left ankle, authorities said.

Police also arrested Christian Oliviere, 24, another ATV biker close to the scene of the crime for reckless endangerment and speeding.

Ortiz was hit with a slew of charges that include attempted murder of a police officer, assault with attempt to cause serious injury with a weapon, attempted aggravated vehicular homicide, and resisting arrest.
