Mark Farrell, 64, attacked his mom inside their Marine Park, Brooklyn apartment around 6:30 a.m. Monday, cops said.

An unhinged Brooklyn man nearly beat his mother to death with her own cane, claiming that the helpless 94-year-old “wanted to die,” police sources said Tuesday.

Investigators charged Mark Farrell, 64, with attempted murder for the brutal attack, which left his elderly mother Dorothy clinging to life with a fractured skull.

Cops were alerted to the bloody scene inside their Burnett St. apartment near Ave. R in Marine Park at about 6:30 a.m. Monday, officials said.

When they arrived, they found the elderly woman on the floor, bleeding from multiple cuts to her hands, face and head, according to court records.

A bloody cane and a pillow was lying right next to her, officials said.

Paramedics rushed her to Kings County Hospital suffering from multiple fractures to her face and skull, three broken fingers and two broken ribs.

She remained in critical condition at the hospital Tuesday.

Farrell admitted that he had tried to kill his mother, but said that it was the 94-year-old woman’s idea, sources said.

“She wanted to die and be with her dead husband,” Farrell told investigators, according to one police source.

Farrell also confessed to covering her face with the pillow to “silence her” before hitting her with the cane, court records show.

Farrell was remanded to custody at his arraignment on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office said.
