Extra cops sent to 3 Brooklyn high schools after Facebook threat

DESPITE THE WEATHER, officials at Edward R. Murrow High School forced students to stand on line to enter the school this morning for the first time in many months that they used metal detectors for entry. Apparently, last week a student brought a dummy hand grenade into school, causing some alarm with officials.

Extra cops were assigned Friday to three Brooklyn high schools after learning of a Facebook threat promising a shooting.

Cop sources said the threat appeared to be an update of a posting. But top cop Bill Bratton said police opted to play it safe at Murrow, Madison and Midwood.
