Yankees’ Tanaka Pitches Two Scoreless Innings in Spring Training Debut

The Yankees’ biggest offseason acquisition made his spring training debut Saturday.

Masahiro Tanaka threw 31 pitches in two scoreless innings, striking out three batters and helping the Yanks to a 4-0 win over the Phillies.

The 25 year old hurler signed a $ 155-million, 7-year contract with the Bombers in January.

Meanwhile, the Mets lost 9-1 to the Marlins.

Lucas Duda, who is competing for the first base position, hit a homer for the Mets’ only run, but he also made one of the team’s three errors.
