Joey Chestnut Retains Mustard Belt as “Black Widow” Falls

Reigning champ Joey “Jaws” Chestnut retained his Mustard Belt Friday at the annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating contest.

The competitive foodie downed 61 dogs at this years hot dog eating contest at Nathans.

While it was not quite up to snuff from last year’s 69 dog record it still scored him the win.

Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas was not as lucky.

She was out eaten by the new women’s champ, Miki Sudo, who put away 34 dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

This is the first time Sonya has lost her title since the creation of a woman’s belt in 2011.
