Man Faces Numerous Charges Connected to Fatal Brooklyn Hit-and-Run



A man faces a list of charges in connection with the fatal accident that claimed the life of a young girl in Brooklyn.


Police say 26-year-old Robert Decarlo turned himself in.


The charges include criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and grand larceny auto.


Police believe he was driving a stolen minivan that jumped a curb Wednesday afternoon, hitting a mother and her two girls.


It happened near Flatlands Avenue and East 46th Street Wednesday afternoon.


Police say 12-year-old Joie Sellers was walking with her mother and 9-year-old sister, Charli, when the van slammed into them.


Joie was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.


Her mother and sister are in critical condition.


Police say the 2005 Dodge Caravan was stolen last Friday on McDonald Avenue.
