Bronx three-alarm fire burns two-story house

A three-alarm Bronx fire burned a vacant two-story house in Parkchester before spreading to nearby buildings.



A three-alarm fire ripped through three Bronx buildings Tuesday morning, authorities said.


FDNY officials said the blistering blaze erupted in a vacant two-story house on Taylor Ave. near Gleason Ave. in Parkchester just before 7:15 a.m. and quickly spread to homes on both sides.

No civilians were hurt. But a firefighter was injured as he and 139 other Bravest fought the blaze, which was brought under control just before 9 a.m.


An investigation into the cause of the fire was under way, officials said.
