Former Gambino crime family head John “Junior” Gotti was stabbed during a mysterious dispute in Long Island on Sunday, the Daily News has learned.
Gotti, the son of late “Dapper Don” John Gotti, told investigators he was stabbed in the stomach while trying to break up a fight between two strangers in the parking lot of a CVS in Syosset, a law enforcement source said.

The incident is now being investigated by both the Nassau County Police Department and Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice’s office, the source said.

Gotti, 49, initially walked into a Syosset hospital seeking treatment for the wound, the source said.

The injury was deemed serious enough that he was transferred to North Shore University Hospital, the source said.
The source was skeptical of his story.

“It’s hard to believe he would break up a fight between two strangers.”
Gotti’s lawyer, Charles Carnesi, said he had not heard about the attack.
Management at the CVS in Syosset declined to comment.
