Police are investigating after sources say a man shot and killed three members of the Iranian band The Yellow Dogs before taking his own life early Monday morning inside their Brooklyn home.
It happened shortly after midnight at a building located at 318 Maujer Street in East Williamsburg.
It’s believed the shooter may have been a former bandmate.
Investigators say the victims were found on the second and third floors of the building, while the suspected shooter was discovered on the roof.
Investigators say the shooter used a rifle and died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
One other person was also wounded in the arm.
“Around 9 o’clock or so every day they come out, we acknowledge one another, we say hello, this that and the other thing. They go up for breakfast, they come back, I see them, we say hello again. I saw them this Friday, two of them not the third one. I saw two of them which they said have a nice weekend and everything like that. They seemed like two very quiet guys, two very nice quiet guys,” said one neighbor.
The band’s Facebook page lists the address where the shooting occurred as their home base.
The group recently played several local venues including the Knitting Factory and Brooklyn Bowl.
