Family members are throwing their support behind a devastated mom one day after her estranged husband threw himself and their 3-year-old son off the roof of a West Side skyscraper.

Dmitriy Kanarikov died after leaping from the Lincoln Square tower shortly after noon on Sunday. The boy, Kirill, dressed in Christmas pajamas, died later at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital.

Kanarikov’s body was found on the roof of a building at 425 W. 59th St. while the son’s landed atop a different four-story building, police said.

The 35-year-old Kanarikov had recently split with his wife Svetlana Bukharina in a very messy breakup.

“We’re here to support our sister and please respect our privacy,” a man identifying himself as Egor Bukharina said on the porch of a Fair Lawn, N.J., home on Monday morning. A printed sign on the front door read “Please do not disturb.”

Just three months ago, the marriage seemed to be heading for better times, with Kanarikov bragging on Facebook: “I want to be the best dad and husband — nothing is more important to me right now.”

The breakup was so tense that they arranged to drop off and pick up their son at a NYPD precinct stationhouse.

Kanarikov and Bukharina had a recent fight over custody of Kirill, records show.

A source said that one of the them complained that the other failed to return their son to her within his allotted time period.

Kanarikov picked up Kirill at 10 a.m. on Sunday at the precinct and was supposed to return him there at 1 p.m., a source said.

Kanarikov earned his living as lead systems analyst for TIAA-CREF, a Manhattan-based financial services company, according to his LinkedIn page.

According to a police source, he had a friend who once lived in the building.

“He goes into the building with the child. Then, we believe to the roof, based on a witness,” the source told The News. “It would appear that he dropped the child and jumped afterward.”

“I heard a boom!” said Adam Gutierrez, who works in the emergency room at the nearby hospital. “The way it sounded, they must’ve jumped from high up.”

Maintenance worker Luis Ortiz was in the emergency room at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital when Kirill was brought in.

“The little boy had Christmas pajamas on,” Ortiz told The News. “They were working on him, but nothing. You could tell that he was already slipping away.”
