Rex Ryan, out of the playoffs for a third straight season, is likely to return in 2014, sources say.
Indications are Rex Ryan will return as the Jets head coach in 2014, according to team sources.
An announcement could come as early as Sunday.
The Jets (7-8), who will finish out of the playoffs for a third straight season under Ryan, close out the regular season in Miami on Sunday afternoon against the Dolphins.
ESPN reported Saturday that Ryan and first-year Jets GM John Idzik met on Friday and possibly mulitple times this week.
Ryan, 51, advanced to the AFC title game in his first two seasons leading the Jets and has a 41-38 overall record in five seasons.
