Notre Dame Tops Rutgers In New Era Pinstripe Bowl At Yankee Stadium

Notre Dame topped Rutgers 29-16 in the annual New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium Saturday.

The fate of the game was sealed when Rutgers threw an interception late in the fourth quarter.

With the victory, the Irish finished their season with a record of 9-4, while Rutgers finished the season with a record of 6-7.

It was the first trip to the Pinstripe Bowl for Notre Dame, though not their first visit to Yankee Stadium, as they played Army at the stadium in 2010.

It wasn’t the first trip to the Pinstripe Bowl for Rutgers. The team won the bowl game in 2011, beating Iowa State 27-13.
