Port Authority cops grabbed a knife-wielding mugger who wounded a New Jersey commuter at the PA Bus Terminal on Eighth Avenue, agency sources said.

At about 8 p.m. Friday, suspect Kenneth Mays, 49, put a knife to the back of the 61-year-old victim, of Toms River, NJ, in a terminal restroom, PA sources said.

Mays then grabbed $ 117 in cash from his pockets, the sources said.

The victim at one point tried to grab the knife and suffered a hand laceration, authorities said.

Responding PA cops arrested Mays, of The Bronx, on charges of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. The victim was treated at the scene, sources said.

He has six felony and three misdemeanor arrests mostly for criminal possession of stolen property and drug charges, PA cops said.

Police observed a 2011 red Honda with its headlights off near 126th Street and Lexington Ave in Harlem at 10 p.m. Friday night.

Cops followed the vehicle into the Heights, where the vehicle was pulled over near 181st Street and Haven Avenue.

When cops approached the vehicle, they got a whiff of marijuana.

Inside the car they found reefer, ecstasy and crack, according to police.

Cops cuffed the two occupants of the vehicle, but one started flailing his arms and slipped away, cops said.

He ran into traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway and hasn’t been seen since, according to police.

One of the arresting officers suffered a hand injury, cops said.

The second suspect is in police custody.

The suspect walked up and fired seven rounds at the duo but missed, the sources said. No injuries were reported.

Cops identified the suspect as Michael Clarke, 26, also known as “Murda Mike,” who was arrested Thursday.

Clarke has 17 prior arrests dating back to 2004, for assault, criminal trespassing and drug possession, cops said.

He has been charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, criminal use of a firearm and reckless endangerment, according to police.

It wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the violence or whether the duo had been previously acquainted with the gunman.
