Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio is on lockdown after a teenage student with a gun barricaded himself in a classroom, authorities say.

An Ohio high school was on lockdown Monday, after a student allegedly walked into a classroom with a gun.

A Toledo Public Schools spokesman told the Toledo Blade that a one student was alone with a gun inside a classroom at Scott High School after police responded to reports of a gunman inside the building about 9:30 a.m.

The student, a 15-year-old boy, was refusing to come out of the room, ABC News reported.

Scores of students were trapped inside the building as police negotiators were trying to talk the student into walking out of the room, which the news station reported is part of a behavioral intervention center.

Hours earlier, a New York school was evacuated for the second time in two weeks after someone called in a bomb threat.

Authorities searched New Rochelle High School after someone called in and told officials to “get everyone out of the building by 8 a.m.,” CBS News reported.

Emergency workers evacuated the building, which was searched for anything suspicious. The school was later determined to be safe, and students and staff were allowed back inside about 9:30 a.m., the news station reported.

A similar threat was made on Nov. 20, when officials evacuated the building and ended classes for the day. But nothing suspicious was found inside the building and classes resumed the next day.
