More Than 100 Firefighters Battle Blaze in Vacant Bronx House

More than 100 firefighters were at the scene of a three-alarm fire that scorched all three stories of a vacant home in the Bronx Sunday morning.

The New York City Fire Department says they received a call just before 5:30 a.m. about a fire at a house in Claremont.

They say that flames spread to all three stories of the building, as well as the basement, which is where the FDNY believes that the fire started.

The fire spread to the second floor of a neighboring house, where one person suffered smoke inhalation, according to fire officials.

A firefighter also suffered minor injuries responding to the fire.

The scene was declared under control shortly after 8 a.m., according to fire officials.
