A lucky cat used up one of its nine lives today after being rescued from underneath a car in Brooklyn.
Quran Johnson first realized something was wrong with the vehicle after smelling burning fur while driving in Brooklyn from Bedford-Stuyvesant to East New York. After the 15 minute drive, the family heard meowing and looked underneath the SUV — they spotted the furry feline’s tail hanging down and immediately called 911.

NYPD emergency service officer Detective Zajac and Sgt. Williams arrived on the scene and rescued the cat who was wedged next to the muffler. The startled cat was slightly singed and taken away to an unnamed shelter to be examined.
