Today is the last day of the second biggest event in the area this week.
Super Bowl Boulevard in Times Square will be active until 10 p.m. Saturday.
On Saturday morning, local officials, as well as NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and owners of the Giants and Jets, visited the event.
They even raced on a toboggan track set up for the public, with Goodell winning the first race and Mayor Bill de Blasio’s son, Dante, winning the second. The mayor finished second in both races.
Senator Chuck Schumer also visited the boulevard and took part in the toboggan race.
There’s several more hours left to hop on the toboggan, kick an extra point like the players or see the Lombardi trophy.
It all helps make the coldest Super Bowl game and week one of the grandest.
“This, in the middle of Time Square, is absolutely extraordinary. So it’s been a magical few days, hopefully someday we’ll get the Super Bowl back and do it again,” said de Blasio.
“It took five years to persuade Commissioner Tagliabue that it was ok to have it out in the cold, we didn’t only have to have it in warm weather areas. And now, it is beyond our expectations. It is the best Super Bowl yet in the best city in the world,” said Schumer.
The big game kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
