Man hospitalized after hit by backhoe pushing snow in Brooklyn

 Sources said the backhoe was clearing snow from the entranceway of the Oceana apartment complex in Brighton Beach when the elderly man was hit.

Sources said the backhoe was clearing snow from the entranceway of the Oceana apartment complex in Brighton Beach when the elderly man was hit.




A 73-year-old man died after he was hit by a backhoe pushing snow in front of his Brooklyn home on Monday, authorities said.


Stanislav Chernyshov was standing in front of the Oceana Dr. West building near Brighton Beach Ave. in Brighton Beach when the machine cut him down shortly before noon, cops said.

Emergency workers rushed Chernyshov to Coney Island Hospital, but he could not be saved.

Sources said the backhoe operator was plowing snow away from the entranceway of the Oceana apartment complex when the elderly man was hit.


Police said they were still investigating the accident.
