TV personality Kelly Ripa will get to headline another big show next week — the 40th annual Halloween Parade.
The perky morning co-host of “Live with Kelly and Michael” was named this year’s grand marshal in honor of her fund-raising efforts for Sandy relief.

Ripa will lead the parade up Sixth Avenue on a float carrying New York City emergency workers and first responders.
“We have been taking our children to the Halloween Parade since they were born. This is a good vantage point because they are too big to sit on our shoulders! I am very proud to be a part of this event. The work to bring to Sandy Relief is never done,” Ripa said in a release Tuesday.

Also joining her on the float will be a renowned organ transplant team from NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The sponsor of Ripa’s float, Rubie’s Costume Co., also got a special shout-out for donating generously to get this year’s parade back on track.
The festive event was nearly doused for good in 2012 because of “Frankenstorm Sandy.”
Costs associated with the canceled parade as well as increased insurance this year forced organizers to mount a last-minute Kickstarter campaign to raise $ 50,000 to keep the tradition alive.
