Hundreds rallied Saturday in Brooklyn to remind government leaders of the need to pass an immigration reform bill.
They want to take it off the back burner, hoping that once the government shutdown is over, action can be taken.
The rally was held in Cadman Plaza.
House Democrats on Wednesday unveiled an immigration bill that would extend a path to citizenship for 11 million immigrants living in the U.S.
Another protest is planned for the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for this Tuesday.
