Three Boys Dead After Fire Rips Through Bronx Residence


Three young boys are dead after a fire plowed through a six-story residential building in the Bronx Friday evening.


Officials say the call for the fire, which occurred at a building on West 165th Street, came in shortly before 8 p.m. Friday.


According to police, 5-year-old Elijah Artis, 2-year-old Jeremiah Artis and 4-month-old Michael Turner were declared dead at Lincoln Hospital.


Police say a 4-month-old and two adults who were also removed from the building are in stable condition at Lincoln Hospital.


A fire official on scene said that the fire remained in one unit and that all of the injured were in that one unit.


The fire was declared under control by the fire department at around 9:15 p.m.


The cause of the fire is under investigation.
