Mayor Bloomberg slammed Norman Seabrook (pictured), president of the Correction Officers Benevolent Association, for grounding buses transporting Rikers Island inmates to court appearances.

It was “outrageous” for the city correction workers union to ground buses taking Rikers Island inmates to court appearances, Mayor Bloomberg said Thursday.

“He denied dozens of inmates the fundamental right to swift justice,” Bloomberg said of union president Norman Seabrook.

Bloomberg said the officers who participated — part of an attempt to stop an inmate from testifying against two of their colleagues — will be disciplined. Seabrook declined comment.
