Man Arrested In Connection With Incident Related To Groping Investigation In Park Slope

A man is under arrest in connection with an incident that police say is related to an ongoing groping investigation in Brooklyn.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said that the man pictured above dislocated a detective’s shoulder during a struggle on Monday after the officer asked to speak with him regarding a string of underage sexual assaults in Park Slope.

The female detective, who works at the New York City Police Department’s Special Victims Unit, snapped this photo before the man ran away.

That’s when a Good Samaritan stepped in and pursued the assailant on not one, but two separate incidents, according to police.

“A Good Samaritan chased him yesterday and then lost him, saw him again today and asked him for his identification,” Kelly said. “He showed him his identification, he took a picture of it and gave that information to the 78th precinct, in turn, gave it to the Special Victims Unit. They went to his home, and they found him coming out.”

Police are still investigating the groping of an 11-year-old girl earlier this month.

Police released the sketches seen at left of the man that they believe is responsible.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com
