Teen Girl Shot On Way Home From School In East New York

A teenage girl was shot at the corner of Sutter and Euclid Avenues in East New York, Brooklyn on Friday afternoon. Police are searching for the gunman.

The 14- or 15-year-old girl was shot near a gas station. Witnesses say the girl was a bystander coming home from school and got caught in crossfire.

There are no details yet on the girl’s condition.

After the shooting, one witness snapped a photo of the girl waiting for an ambulance while two passersby helped her.

“I saw a young girl lying on the ground who had just been shot being helped by a woman and a man. The woman had taken her bag and turned it into a tourniquet and the man was just assisting with her, comforting her. And she’s not screaming bad. Then I seen a woman arrive on the scene, who I assume, cause I don’t know, was her mother ‘cause she was uncontrollably wailing. And then I took some pictures of the young lady being put into an ambulance and being driven away,” witness Jimmy Spicer said.

Spicer said this is the third shooting on that corner in the last year.
