App-rehended! iPhone thief nabbed by tech-smart cops

SENDER: "DCPI"

The app-wise cops used “Find My iPhone” to find the missing phone and make the collar.

Tech-savvy cops collared a creep who choked a 17-year-old girl and stole her iPhone while she waited for a Queens bus, police said Saturday.

The teen was attacked at a bus stop on the Horace Harding Expressway near 99th St. in Corona about 8:45 p.m. Friday, cops said.

The bandit choked her while reaching into her pocketbook and swiping the phone, according to police.

He then pushed her to the ground and jumped into the back seat of a waiting black Honda Accord, which sped off.

But cops used the “Find My iPhone” app to track the location of the phone and pulled the car over 15 minutes later at Myrtle Ave. and 85th St., officials said.

They recovered the Apple gadget and arrested Michael Iglesias, 29, of Corona, on charges of robbery and criminal possession of stolen property.

Two other men in the car, Sayli Llonch, 28, and off-duty MTA bus driver Augustin Rodriguez, 27, were charged with criminal possession of stolen property, cops said.

The victim, who was not seriously injured, got her phone back.
