Pooches piddle all over new Banksy ‘dog pee’ graffiti

It’s life imitating arf.

City dogs are peeing on Banksy’s new mural of a dog peeing.

“I didn’t try to get the dog to pee there, he just did!” said Asher Remy-Toledo, whose poodle-schnauzer mix, Ralph, took a bathroom break on the Chelsea mural Friday.

Remy-Toledo said the street art — which features a dog lifting a leg on a fire hydrant — has attracted plenty of human fans, too.

“Suddenly there’s been a whole migration to this area,” he said. “It’s an ugly wall so it’s nice to have something cool there.”

Other neighbors living near the famous British street artist’s new piece, on Sixth Avenue and 24th Street, say pooches seem uncannily drawn to the image.

A second mutt was spotted relieving himself on the mural on Thursday, creating a scene that looked plucked from a Meta exhibit.

Neighbor Yajaira Tejeda, 31, said the whole thing cracks her up. “What’s funny is the dog is marking his territory . . . and maybe Banksy is too,” she said.

Others guessed pooches may be drawn to the art because the fire hydrant image looks like the shadow of a real one.

“That’s really funny dogs are peeing on it. But it’s like a shadow so of course they would,” said 21-year-old fashion student Laurel Predchutti.

The mural at Sixth Avenue and 24th Street is part of the “Better Out Than In” series, which Banksy calls “an artists residency on the streets of New York.”
