Close call for girl, 4, taken for ride with thief

A 4-year-old girl had a narrow escape in Brooklyn Friday night after a thug stole a van she was a passenger in and took off, authorities said.

According to cops, the thief stole a blue Chevy Astro van near Macon Street with the girl inside, but then quickly dropped her off at a nearby gas station on Hendrix Street and Atlantic Avenue when he realized the van wasn’t empty.

“We we’re driving by the gas station and my daughter saw a little girl standing alone near a gas pump, just standing there all alone,” said Joshua Rosato, 50, of East New York. “She was crying and confused, and didn’t know what happened.”

The girl was unharmed but taken to Brookdale Hospital for observation, authorities say.

“I asked her where her parents were and how she got there, but she couldn’t answer,” Rosato said of the little girl. “She was just confused.”
