Police had put out this image of their suspect on Monday. A day later, they caught the man they believe beat up a straphanger in the Ralph Ave. station last Sunday.

Cops have cuffed a suspect in the vicious — but apparently random — pipe attack on a Brooklyn straphanger.

Leon Sims, 25, was charged Tuesday with the early morning Sept. 22 assault at the Ralph Ave. subway station.

The victim told police he was sitting on a bench on the Manhattan-bound C platform at 1:20 a.m. when Sims pounced, hitting him repeatedly with the pipe.

The 35-year-old man fell onto the trackbed and Sims fled, police said. Paramedics took the victim to Interfaith Medical Center where he was treated for cuts to his head and a chipped tooth.

Investigators believe it may have been a random attack.
