Sources: New Rider Questioned In Manhattan Motorcycle Chase

Police in Manhattan are questioning another motorcycle rider involved in Sunday’s violent motorcycle chase of an SUV on the Henry Hudson Parkway, sources tell NY1.

Investigators at the 33rd precinct have been looking to talk to the main person seen on video smashing the vehicle’s window, and eventually pulling the driver out and beating him.

It comes as the family of another rider who was badly injured in the incident spoke to members of the media.

Relatives of Edwin “Jay” Mieses say he is not a gang member or a violent person, but that he is actually an innocent victim that was run over during the altercation.

They say Mieses was just trying to diffuse the situation after a fender bender between SUV driver Alexian Lien and one of the bikers.

He was allegedly trying to get other bikers to move forward to let the car go, and that was when Lien ran him over.

That incident has left Mieses in critical condition, and possibly paralyzed for life.

His family, along with high powered attorney Gloria Alred are now calling for justice.

“It tears me up that anyone could think that Edwin in anyway deserves what happens to him,’ said Mieses’ girlfriend, Dyana Mejia.

“When he was clearly an innocent victim just standing there trying to get others to move on, diffuse the situation, and then the SUV just comes and hits him while his back is turned,” Allred said.

Police from the 33rd precinct on Friday brought the SUV into the station house for further investigation.
