Just in time for the evening commute the National Weather Service says there is a possibility of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and high winds for the city.
There is also a tornado watch in effect for all five boroughs until 5 p.m.
The heaviest bands of rain are expected to make their way into the city around 4 p.m.
The Department of Buildings is also warning property owners and contractors to tie up or bring in anything that can be blown away.
