Toddler dies after being struck by vehicle

A 3-year old girl was killed after she was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing a Queens street with her grandmother tonight, witnesses and cops said.

Little Allison Liao, 3, was walking with her grandmother in the crosswalks of Main street and Cherry avenue in Flushing when a black Nissan Murano SUV making a left turn on a green light onto Main street hit the toddler, cops said.

According to witnesses, the grandmother moved the child to the side walk where a good Samaritan tried to revive her by performing CPR.

“I saw the grandmother carrying the little child, she was screaming and shaking her,” said witness Rachel Hwang, 21, who came out of her father’s store when she heard the accident. “[The child] wasn’t moving.”

The driver remained on the scene and witnesses said he was one of the first people to call 911.

“He was screaming on the phone telling the ambulance to come faster,” said Hwang.

Liao was rushed to New York Hospital Queens where she was declared dead, cops said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
