Thomas Yarnavick, 66, was arraigned Friday before Queens Criminal Court Judge Donna Golia on a murder charge. The Queens nursing home resident is accused of fatally beating a roommate after an argument over a curtain separating their beds.




The Queens nursing home resident who cops say beat his roommate to death was arraigned Friday on a murder charge.


Thomas Yarnavick, 66, who appeared before Queens Criminal Court Judge Donna Golia, faces second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon charges for using a metal wheelchair leg rest to kill 71-year-old Jailall Singh, said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. He

Singh met his bloody end when the two men argued over a curtain separating their beds at the Beacon Rehab and Nursing Center in Rockaway Park, police said.


A witness saw Singh lying face up in bed early Wednesday, and Yarnavick, holding the leg rest, prosecutors said. Yarnavick was held without bail. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
