The Brooklyn Nets hung on for a 102-98 win over the Toronto Raptors Friday night at Barclays Center to give Brooklyn a 2-1 lead in their first-round playoff series, but the New York Rangers lost 2-1 to the Flyers in Philadelphia, where that series now stands at 2-2.
Joe Johnson led the Nets with 29 points, making the clinching free throws with 3.1 seconds left after Brooklyn almost blew a 15-point, fourth-quarter lead. Deron Williams added 22 points while Paul Pierce had 18.
The Rangers’ Dominic Moore put the Blueshirts up 1-0 early, but Flyers goalie Steve Mason stoned New York the rest of the way, allowing the Flyers to tie the series.
Game 5 for the Rangers will be Sunday at Madison Square Garden, while Game 4 for the Nets will be Sunday at Barclays Center.
