Brooklyn


A heartless thug slugged an elderly man in a Midwood building’s elevator and then robbed him, authorities said Monday.


The mugger boarded the elevator in the building on East 13th Street near Avenue O with the 73-year-old victim at around noon last Wednesday, cops said.


When the victim got out on the fourth floor, the brute punched him and stole his wallet, which held about $ 100, according to police.


The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for a cut to his head.


The thug looked straight into a surveillance camera as he entered the elevator just before the attack police said.


He was wearing a black T-shirt and black pants, they said.




A man was found stabbed to death in his basement apartment in Cypress Hills, police said Monday.


Cops responding to calls of an unconscious man discovered Michael Imperato, 46, in his Etna Street home with stab wounds to the neck at around 7:50 p.m. Sunday, police said.


He was declared dead at the scene.


Investigators have no information on a motive, but witnesses reported seeing a fleeing man with a black baseball cap and a scarf over his face, according to police.




A woman found her brother stabbed to death in his Brownsville apartment, authorities said Monday.


Richard Saunders’ son grew concerned Sunday after he hadn’t answered the phone because they speak every day, sources said.


The son asked the victim’s sister to check on him in the basement apartment on Legion Street at around 4:30 p.m., the sources added.


The sister found Saunders, 47, with several stab wounds to the head and chest, authorities said.


EMS declared him dead at the scene.


Investigators have not released a description of a suspect, and it was unclear if the apartment had been burglarized.




The Bronx


A thief swiped a cellphone from a West Farms electronics store after he distracted an employee there, cops said Monday.


The crook asked a worker at Rayyan Tech Corp. on East Tremont Avenue questions about products at around 3 p.m. Sept. 9, and slipped a Samsung Galaxy S4 into his pocket when the staffer wasn’t looking, police said.


The thief was wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt, black sneakers and blue jeans.




A man stabbed his wife to death in their Pelham Gardens home during a fight over medication, police said Monday.


Martin Migliozzi, 56, called 911 for an ambulance at the Astor Avenue house at around noon Sunday, and cops on patrol arrived to find Cynthia Migliozzi, 57, on the living room floor with stab wounds to her left armpit and shoulder blade, authorities said.


EMS rushed the woman to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The husband remained with the victim’s lifeless body, next to a pair of scissor, until cops and other first responders arrived, and was promptly arrested, according to police.


He was charged with murder, manslaughter, and weapon possession.


Sources said Migliozzi may have snapped because his wife took away his medication, although they would not specify what type.




Queens


A school safety agent beat up her beau’s former girlfriend inside a St. Albans home Monday, cops said.


Takeea Staunton, 27, kicked and punched her 34-year-old romantic rival at around 1:45 a.m., police said.


The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.


Staunton was charged with assault and harassment.


It’s unclear how or why the two members of the love triangle were in the same home, police sources said.




A thug shot a man during a clash between rival groups outside a South Ozone Park nightclub, officials said Monday.


During the scuffle in front of the Vue Sky Lounge on Liberty Avenue near 123rd Street just before 4 a.m. Saturday, a man pulled a gun and blasted the 28-year-old victim in the torso, cops said.


The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was in serious condition, but is expected to survive, authorities said.


The shooter, who wore a light-colored hoodie, fled in a dark SUV, investigators said.


It was not clear what sparked the gunfight.
