Parking cop admits to stealing $89K in quarters

A couple coins missing from parking meters probably isn’t something cops worry about – but 356,000 quarters – now that’s guaranteed to raise a few eyebrows!

Mount Kisco parking enforcement officer Jeffery Daday admitted Tuesday to stealing more than $ 89,000 over the span of 5 years from parking meters in the Westchester County village, The Journal News reports.

Daday pleaded guilty in Westchester County Court in White Plains to felony counts of second-degree grand larceny and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.

His loose-change thievery went down from January 5, 2009 through May 6, 2014. Daday faces 15 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 23.

Police received a heads up about his sticky-fingered ways and nailed him while under surveillance.
