East Side Access Project Getting $203M Boost

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is getting a windfall of federal dollars for its project that will bring the Long Island Rail Road to Grand Central.

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney says the agency will get $ 203 million toward the East Side Access project.

She is scheduled to present a check to transit officials on Saturday.

East Side Access has been plagued by delays and is said to be billions of dollars over budget.

It is projected to cost about $ 10 billion when it’s finally completed some time around December 2022.
