Police Seek Man in Connection with Violent Attempted Robbery



Police are looking for a man they say tried to rob a livery cab driver at knifepoint in Washington Heights.


Investigators say the suspect, seen in a surveillance photo, was riding in a cab on West 163rd Street and Riverside Drive the morning September 4.


They say he threatened the driver with a knife, and demanded he hand over his money and car keys.


After a struggle, the suspect got out of the car, and the cabbie was able to drive off.


He was treated for cuts on his face and arms.
