Innocent driver injured in high-speed crash

An innocent driver was seriously injured when a car flying down a Brooklyn street at 80 mph to get away from pursuing cops hit his van Sunday night, police and witnesses said.

It was not immediately clear why two police cars were chasing the car, a black Chrysler 300 carrying two people. The highspeed chase took place along busy Myrtle Avenue in BedfordStuyvesant at about 10:30 p.m.

“The black car was running from the police. He ran the light and hit the van,” said witness David Menedez, 25. “It just flipped right over. It was so crazy.”

The victim, a repairman in his 60s, suffered a broken jaw and other injuries, a coworker said.

One person in the Chrysler was critically injured and another was apprehended by cops after he tried to flee.
