A lockdown is underway at The College of New Rochelle after a disgruntled student threatened to “Columbine the school” over a bill payment, according to police.
The unidentified student, who’s actively wanted by New Rochelle police, called into the New York school’s finance department around 12:06 p.m. Friday when tempers flared
“The student threatened to ‘Columbine the school’ unless they resolved his issue with his bill,” Police Capt. Joseph Schaller told the Daily News.
The school locked down the entire New Rochelle campus at 1 p.m., according to the office of college relations.
Police believe the student, whose identity is known by police, is not from the area but lives in Connecticut.
The New Rochelle Police Department is currently patrolling the campus where classes have been canceled for the remainder of the day, said Schaller.
