The city Department of Investigation on Friday released a preliminary report on the Queens fire that left two 4-year-olds dead and says four 911 call center employees have now been suspended as they continue their timeline probe.
The department has been looking into how ambulances were dispatched to the Far Rockaway neighborhood last weekend.
Firefighters say they arrived within minutes of a 911 call, but officials say an ambulance was not dispatched as soon as flames were reported.
The DOI says it is still going over the facts so far has led the department to suspend a call center supervisor and three dispatchers from handling emergency calls pending the full investigation.
The two 4-year-old children died of smoke inhalation after flames broke out just before midnight Saturday.
A union representing EMTs defended the response time, even as Mayor Bill de Blasio and other elected officials demand a review.
