The library’s board voted 9-9 on Thursday not to force him to take a leave of absence.

Trustees of the Queens Library refused to consider a measure that would have allowed four ex-officio members to vote Thursday night on whether embattled president Thomas Galante should take a three-month leave of absence, the Daily News has learned.


The hotly contested issue ended in a 9-9 stalemate — meaning he will stay.


An attendee told The News the additional members would have broken the tie and likely voted to give the luxury-loving library head the boot.
