Firefighter Injured Battling Two-Alarm Fire in Brooklyn



A Firefighter was seriously hurt battling a stubborn two-alarm blaze in Brooklyn on Sunday.


The FDNY says his injuries are not considered life threatening.


The call came at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming out of the third floor of a Brownstone at 684 Halsey Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.


It took an hour to bring the flames under control.


Authorities say four other firefighters sustained minor injuries.


The Red Cross says it is assisting displaced residents.


No word yet on the cause of the fire.
