Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Robbed Livery Driver at Gunpoint in Manhattan

Police have arrested a man who they say robbed a livery driver in Manhattan at gunpoint last week.

Investigators believe the man seen above is 20-year-old Merrick Barton of Queens.

They say an anonymous tip led them to Barton, who was already in jail for jumping a turnstile in the Bronx Thursday.

Police say he was positively identified in a lineup.

On the morning of September 7, police say Barton got in a cab on Madison Avenue, allegedly pulled a gun and robbed the driver of $ 40 and a cellphone before jumping out a few blocks away.
