Police Investigate After Three Bodies Found in Apartment Fire in Flushing

The NYPD is investigating after firefighters found three bodies while battling an apartment fire in Queens early Tuesday morning.

Police are investigating the deaths of the two men and one woman as homicide.

The fire department says the call about a fire on the sixth floor of a building on Roosevelt Avenue near Parsons Boulevard in Flushing came in just before 5 a.m.

It quickly developed into an all-hands fire.

Although flames were quickly put out with damage limited to just one apartment, three people inside were pronounced dead at the scene.

The badly burned bodies were found with lacerations, lying in the living room of the apartment.

“I’m just a little worried because there were a couple people on the sixth floor that we were friends with, and I don’t know who it was. I just wanted to come over and find out if everyone’s OK, it doesn’t look like anybody evacuated or anything,” said neighbor Jennifer Tovar.

All three of the victims were adults.

Three firefighters also suffered minor injuries in the incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
