Source: NYCFC Looking for Home Outside Bronx

A source close to the negotiations tells NY1 that the new New York City Football Club is now looking for a home outside the Bronx.

The Major League Soccer team is scheduled to begin play in 2015 at Yankee Stadium and is still set to play its first season there.

The club had been eyeing possible sites for a permanent home in the South Bronx, but sources now indicate that those negotiations have fallen through, as the team would have difficulty acquiring some of the land it would need.

NYCFC is co-owned by the Yankees and the British soccer team Manchester City.
