A woman was fatally struck by a pick-up truck early Friday morning in the Bronx after she ran onto the Hutchinson River Parkway, authorities said.
The woman, 31, dashed from a service road into the northbound lane of the Parkway near Exit 3 in Pelham Bay, and was leveled by the white Ford F-150 at 6 a.m., according to cops.
First responders rushed to the scene, but they pronounced the woman dead on arrival, police said.
The driver of the car, 43, remained at the scene, and no charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
It was not immediately clear why the woman, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, ran onto the bustling thoroughfare, investigators said.
