Doomed dad was on way to light Rockefeller Tree

One of the people killed in Sunday’s train crash was a talented production designer who was on his way to Manhattan to help prepare the Rockefeller Center tree for its lighting ceremony Tuesday.

Tragic dad of four Jim Lovell, 58, of Philipstown in Putnam County worked in sound and lighting and was supposed to help set up the famed event, a family friend told the Journal News.

His wife is a Philipstown councilwoman.

Another friend said Lovell underwent open-heart surgery about five years ago and had battled cancer — surviving both ordeals in heroic fashion, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Lovell’s son, Finn, revealed his heartache Sunday on Twitter.

“Words can’t express how much my father meant to me. It’s safe to say he molded me into the man I an,” the distraught son wrote.

“I can’t believe he’s f—ing gone. This has to be a nightmare.

“My dad may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten.”

The other three dead victims were identified as James Ferrari, 59, of Montrose, Donna Smith, 54, of Newburgh and a 35-year-old woman, Ahn Kisook, of Queens.

Ferrari was a married dad with a 20-year-old daughter.
