A 30-year-old Brooklyn man was fatally struck by a van early Friday. Google The 30-year-old victim was crossing Utica Ave. near Foster Ave. when the incident occurred.

A 30-year-old Brooklyn man was fatally struck by a van early Friday, cops said.


The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was crossing Utica Ave. midblock near Foster Ave. in East Flatbush when he was hit by the southbound white van about 5:45 a.m.


He was rushed to Kings County Hospital but could not be saved.


The driver of the Royal Rose Transportation van remained on the scene and faced no immediate charges. He was taking passengers to a car auction in Manheim, Pa., when the accident occurred.

“I was in the back of the van. I heard the impact,” said passenger Chris Gabriel, 44, who works at a law firm.


“At first I thought we hit a car. I didn’t realize we hit someone until we got out and I saw a man lying in the street.”
