Collision Sends MTA Bus into Manhattan Storefront, Minor Injuries Reported

At least five people suffered minor injuries this morning after an MTA bus slammed into a building in Washington Heights after getting hit by a minivan.

It happened at Broadway and 155th Street shortly before 8 a.m.

The MTA says the van hit the side of the bus, causing the bus to jump the curb and crash into a storefront.

“I was just doing my normal set up for work this morning and next thing you know I hear a loud noise. I see something coming so I screamed and I turned my head and the next thing you know the bus was in front of the store,” said one witness.

The MTA says the bus was not in service at the time and was only carrying the driver.

He suffered minor injuries along with two pedestrians and two people in the van.

It’s not clear if the van driver will face any charges.
